This project involved creating a poster featuring the Atari game console, which was perfectly illustrated using Adobe Illustrator. Since I had to realistically depict a game console using Illustrator, the task took a considerable amount of time—but it also became a valuable opportunity to improve my skills.

When designing the logo, I wanted to combine an image of a person sleeping comfortably with their arm resting, and a fire burning in a fireplace. I designed it so that the long rectangular shape, which is both an arm and firewood, also appears as a roof warmly covering the inside of the house. The icons for the brochure were created in Illustrator, and the background illustrations and photos were processed in Photoshop to ensure color consistency. To make the logo and fireplace colors stand out, I chose a pastel, cool-toned color as the base. I learned that when working on brochures, I need to consider the dimensions of the folding parts, just like designing a book cover.

The goal of this project was to choose a magazine genre and design a layout that included a two-page advertisement and three feature articles. I selected fantasy literature and film as the central theme, creating a magazine that explores imaginative worlds and storytelling. The advertisement was designed to align with the magazine’s content, and I also produced a promotional video for this issue—allowing me to explore multiple aspects of editorial, branding, and motion design.
(Note: The publishing company listed in the ad is purely aspirational and not affiliated with my actual work—just a hopeful detail.)

The goal of this project was to design a two-spread magazine layout. While writing the articles wasn’t required, I chose to interview an AI about the rumor that Gen Z layoffs were caused by AI itself. I turned that conversation into a feature article for the magazine. Back in 2024, I also experimented with AI image generation and was genuinely surprised by how well it performed—far beyond my expectations.

The goal of this project was to select an article from The New Yorker and design a cover that effectively reflects its content. I chose a piece that analyzes the reasons why many modern couples are choosing not to have more than one child. To visually interpret the theme, I created a cover that captures the emotional and societal nuances of the article. One of the project constraints was to incorporate textures found in everyday surroundings, which added a distinctive and tactile quality to the final design.

The core objective of this project was to transform a portrait photograph into a believable hero or villain character from a video game using Photoshop. The final output included a promotional poster and character card featuring the redesigned figure. Finding the right pose online to match my envisioned scenario took considerable time and blending body parts from different individuals into a cohesive and natural-looking character was a new challenge for me. This project became a valuable opportunity to explore advanced Photoshop techniques and expand my creative skill set.

The goal of this project was to create a poster for a sci-fi or horror film using photo bashing—a technique that combines multiple photographic elements into a single, cohesive image. I based the design on a scene from my own novel, completing the composition with a cinematic and atmospheric approach. The final artwork was later used as the cover for the English edition of my book.

The goal of this project was to create a small booklet focused on Photoshop filters, centered around a single theme. It was a great opportunity to explore the wide range of filters in depth, and I gained a new appreciation for how much effort and technical skill goes into designing informative materials. I also discovered tools like Adobe Bridge for the first time, which expanded my understanding of workflow and asset management. That said, having to redo the entire layout from scratch just to fix one detail made this one of the most exhausting projects I’ve ever tackled—but also one of the most educational.
The core objective of this project was to choose a visual technique and create a promotional poster for a specific company. As someone fascinated by mechanical aesthetics, I selected steampunk as my stylistic approach and designed a poster for POSCO, a company whose industrial identity aligns well with the theme. The concept features a bird bursting out of a blast furnace, scorching through paper and seemingly flying beyond the frame—an image meant to evoke power, transformation, and raw energy.

The core objective of this project was to choose a design movement and create a concert poster inspired by it. I selected Pop Art for its bold, expressive style, and drew inspiration from Alec Benjamin’s song “Paper Crown.” The concept centers around a dethroned queen, forced under threat to announce the concert schedule—a visual metaphor for lost power and reluctant performance. The poster blends dramatic narrative with vibrant Pop Art aesthetics to create a striking promotional piece.

This project was interestingly about creating a concert poster using a song that hit #1 on the Billboard charts on the students’ birthdays. My song was “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. After listening carefully to the lyrics, I envisioned a middle-aged man oppressed within his home, and I wanted to create a poster depicting his escape from that situation and his journey to the concert. I drew three sketches, but none were quite to my liking, so I decided to combine all three concepts. The result is what you see here, drawn using pastel and colored pencil brushes, based on various images. I naturally integrated the song title into the background using graffiti. I used a framed presentation to make it look as if the man were breaking out of the picture.

The goal of this project was to select one of the programs offered by Fanshawe Pioneer Village and design a bi-fold brochure to promote it. I chose a program geared toward children and created a layout that highlights its engaging and educational aspects. Looking back, I feel that using brighter colors—rather than strictly matching the logo palette—might have made the design more appealing and playful for the target audience.

The goal of this project was to create a self-portrait using Adobe Illustrator. I initially tried using the mesh tool, but it didn’t quite capture what I had in mind, and I felt stuck. Eventually, I switched to using brushes and approached the portrait as if I were painting—and that’s when everything started to come together. Turns out, I might just be a brush person after all.
